The future of barbering starts with education and mentorship. That’s why we’re excited to launch Shaping Up The Future, a program for barber students and schools in five regions: Texas, Georgia, DC, Maryland and Virginia. The program connects future barbers and schools with theCut!

Barber schools in these markets can request an in-person visit from a theCut brand ambassador. During the visit, school owners and instructors will see how theCut supports barbers at all stages, inspiring students with real stories of how the platform empowers their growth in the industry.

Uplifting The Next Generation

‍Our commitment to the future of barbering didn’t start here. Last year, we gathered nearly 30,000 signatures to fight the removal of financial aid for aspiring barber and beauty students. To further support, we awarded $5,000 to an upcoming barber student. Now, we're piloting this program in high-demand markets, supported by data showing strong in-app search volume. Our team of expert brand ambassadors are ready to inspire and uplift the next generation of barbers in these regions.

Before we launched, we spent time speaking with barber students. theCut CEO & Co-Founder, Obi Omile Jr., toured barber schools with Joe Flano, creator of the Midwest Trade Show Chicago, gaining valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by student barbers.

From access to cutting-edge tools to mentorship from seasoned professionals, it’s clear that students need more support beyond school. This inspired us to create Shaping Up The Future, a program focusing on providing schools and students with support to fast-track their careers.
